As the Lott Carey Global Christian Missional Community prepares to gather in Philadelphia from August 11–14, for its 128th Annual Session, anticipation is building for the powerful evening worship services that will anchor each day of the event. Held at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown and hosted by Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Alyn E. Waller, this year’s session promises to be a spiritually enriching experience.

At the heart of the evening services are three distinguished preachers whose ministries have left indelible marks on congregations and communities across the nation and beyond.

Dr. Jesse T. Williams, Jr., who also serves as President of Lott Carey, brings a ministry rooted in reconciliation, transformation, and community empowerment. As Senior Pastor of Convent Avenue Baptist Church in Harlem, he has led significant growth and revitalization, including a million-dollar capital campaign and the expansion of church infrastructure. A scholar and author, Dr. Williams holds advanced degrees from Eden Theological Seminary and has completed leadership training at Harvard Divinity School. His preaching is known for its theological depth and practical application, shaped by a global ministry that spans the U.S., Africa, and the Caribbean.

A trailblazer and prophetic voice, Dr. Jacqueline Thompson is the first woman to serve as Senior Pastor of the historic Allen Temple Baptist Church in Oakland. Her ministry is marked by boldness, compassion, and a deep commitment to justice and community transformation. With academic credentials from UC Berkeley, Howard University, and Fuller Theological Seminary, Dr. Thompson is also a respected author, educator, and national leader. Her election as 2nd Vice-President of the Progressive National Baptist Convention in 2022 further underscores her influence in the broader church.

Dr. William Curtis, a seasoned pastor and visionary leader, has shepherded Mount Ararat Baptist Church into one of the largest and most impactful congregations in Pennsylvania. Known for his dynamic preaching and commitment to community uplift, Dr. Curtis also co-owns The Church Online, a tech firm serving ministries globally. His leadership extends to numerous civic and denominational boards, and he is a mentor to emerging church leaders through his work at United Theological Seminary.
