Lott Carey Baptist Foreign Mission Society Holds Annual Session

The Lott Carey Baptist Foreign Mission Society holds its 124th Annual Session from August 10-12 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Meetings will be streamed live and host interactive online participation.

Highlights include the installation of Dr. Gina Stewart, senior pastor of Christ Missionary Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee, as the first woman president of the international mission agency.

Gathering under the theme, “Engage – Transforming the World through Missions,” the Annual Session includes presentations and discussions on social justice ministries of the Black Church and tackles specific issues such as Ministering to the Incarcerated and a just resolution to the Arab-Israeli Conflict.

In response to the Covid-19 outbreak and similar threats, meetings will explore doing ministry and engaging pastorally during a pandemic, especially to families directly affected by the disease and the mental health challenges faced by youth.

Reports will be received from, and interactive sessions held, with global partners.

Established in 1897, Lott Carey has long term mission engagements in more than 20 countries in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Europe, North America, Oceania, and South America.
